Inner Circle

The Inner Circle is a positive, school-based support system that helps Black boys in grades 3-5 avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives by connecting them with community and business leaders who teach concrete life skills that help design individual blueprints for success. This program supports the natural curiosity in Black boys, gives them the tools for critical thinking, and actively engages them in activities with purpose. Although slightly different at each grade level, the goal remains the same — to empower the young person to actively participate in their learning and make positive changes through the My Path, My Way curriculum.

My Path, My Way

My Path, My Way is a comprehensive program that explicitly incorporates critical thinking concepts and dispositions as well as intellectual standards in thinking. These valuable tools are practiced with participants to encourage and empower them to embrace knowledge as active learners.

Based on the Road to Success Map, The My Path, My Way curriculum graphically illustrates the pursuit and achievement of success by incorporating critical and intellectual thinking skills to overcome obstacles, inspire knowledge acquisition, and engage in active learning. Hands-on practical activities introduce students to concepts that enable them to develop their own paths to success through goal-setting and action-planning around life objectives.

Life Lessons

Life Lessons workshops provide tools, information and training that equip families, educators and communities to better advocate for the educational rights of Black youths. Workshops also empower Black youths with the tools to advocate for themselves, to be active participants in their education and be better positioned o be noticed for intellectual prowess rather than disruptive behavior to better engage, encourage, and empower Black youth.
